Ludwig van Beethoven’s hands and piano technique- video with Emmanuel Ax.

Mr Ax discusses Beethoven’s hands and hand span. Now, Ludwig wasn’t a tall man- about 5 feet 4 inches, so I don’t suppose his hands were huge like Sergei  Rachmaninov’s.  But Ludwig’s piano sonatas require some techniques that do favour large hand spans!
