I’ve been on rather an interesting journey with my artwork over the past 4 years. I have a store on Etsy called Curious Journey, hence the name of this page:
Below is a gallery of some of my work.
A roombox/miniature house. The ghost of a child haunts a ruined 18th century mansion.
Abstracts inspired by Holst’s Planets.
I made this friar/monk out of vintage book pages, and painted him with acrylic paints. He’s glued onto a piece of wood that was also covered with book pages. The scene is a ruined old priory and he is a ghost haunting it.
A paper figurine glued into a heart shaped tin. Inspired by the idea of classical composers/musicians and the Muse who helps them bring their music to life.
I turned this tin into a piano.
Bottles of medicines and samples.
An assemblage in a wooden box. I have an interest in creepy Victorian doctors so I made this. Dr.Valentine is a character of mine. He is in one of my poems in my poetry page.
Kidney stones and an ad the front of his cabinet.
Close up of some of his “medicines” and samples.
One of the compartments with his bottles of quack medicine.
If you have a rash Dr. Valentine will make you up one of his mercury ungents!
Baby dreams of being a butterfly…
I call this sweet doll head Baby.
I used this vintage mini figurine of an 18th century lady to create the scene of a tragic bride whose ghost haunts an old mansion.
Roombox/diorama. Granny is made out of vintage book pages and her shawl is crochet cotton lace.
Fanciful acrylic painting on canvas.
Mini acrylic painting of a cute little fish.
The bird is painted on canvas and glued onto a painted piece of wood. I used acrylic paints.
I made her out of vintage book pages.
“The Woodland Sprite.”
The home of a creepy Victorian doctor.
Miniature house- the back view.
I used the cover of a vintage paperback novel for the background.
Inspired by Gothic literature and romance!

She is about to have some blancmange…
Retro style shadow box. The Martian Queen is in her rocket ship bound for earth. On a plate next to her is pink blancmange- her favourite food!
Inspired by Chopin’s Raindrop Prelude, evoking rain drops on an old glass window.
This is a response to the Raindrop Prelude by Chopin.
A Victorian woman is inside.
I covered it with old book pages
Close up inside- a figure is hiding amongst a hand made book ( from vintage book pages and art paper)
It’s decorated inside with vintage book pages
Miss Tandy the Victorian spiritualist
Acrylics on canvas- inspired by Liszt’s Love Dream.
Done with gouache paints, inspired by Greensleeves, evoking a cottage garden on a warm summer’s day.
Inspired by the 18th variation of Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a theme of Paganini
